About Me
People often ask what led me to my Bowen Therapy journey.
In 2017, I discovered Bowen Therapy completely by accident. I was attending a wellness expo while dealing with a shoulder injury and ongoing lower back pain that I just couldn’t get on top of. I had tried everything, massage therapy, physiotherapy, chiropractic care, and even dry needling. While each offered short-term relief, nothing truly lasted.
At the expo, I decided to see a Bowen therapist, not really understanding how it worked or how something so gentle could possibly help. When the session ended, I walked away feeling confused, wondering how that treatment was going to fix anything.
The following morning, I woke up feeling deeply relaxed, with no pain in my shoulder or lower back, and noticeably better range of movement. I was honestly amazed. What surprised me even more was that the pain didn’t return for weeks, something I had never experienced before.
That experience was the turning point. When I enrolled in my Bowen Therapy training, I was blown away by the wide range of conditions Bowen Therapy can assist with and the remarkable results it achieves through such a gentle approach.
I truly believe in long-lasting pain relief by addressing the cause of pain, not just the symptoms. Life is simply too short to live with ongoing pain and discomfort.

Bowen Therapy
Gentle, precise movements applied to muscles and connective tissue to stimulate the body’s natural healing response, relieve pain, and restore balance without force or manipulation.

Nervous System Reset
Bowen Therapy works directly with the nervous system, helping it shift from stress mode into deep relaxation, allowing the body to reset, repair, and function more efficiently.

Natural Self-Healing
By encouraging communication within the body, Bowen Therapy supports natural self-healing, improving mobility, reducing tension, and enhancing overall physical and emotional wellbeing.

How Bowen Therapy Is Different
Many people come to Bowen Therapy after trying other treatments such as massage, chiropractic care, or physiotherapy. While all of these therapies have value, Bowen Therapy works in a very different way.
Rather than treating symptoms alone, Bowen Therapy focuses on helping the nervous system reset, allowing the body to correct itself naturally.
Bowen Therapy vs Massage
Massage therapy primarily works by manually manipulating muscles to reduce tension, improve circulation, and promote relaxation. While massage can feel great and provide relief, its effects are often short-term, especially when the nervous system remains in a stress response.
Bowen Therapy differs because:
- It uses gentle, precise movements rather than continuous pressure
- It communicates directly with the nervous system
- It encourages the body to release tension on its own
- Results often continue to improve days after treatment
Bowen Therapy doesn’t force muscles to relax, it invites the body to reset, which can lead to longer-lasting changes.
Bowen Therapy vs Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic care focuses on the alignment and movement of the spine and joints, often using adjustments to restore mobility and reduce nerve interference. This can be extremely effective for structural issues.
Bowen Therapy differs because:
- There is no manipulation or cracking
- It works through soft tissue and fascia
- It targets the nervous system response rather than joint positioning
- It is exceptionally gentle and non-invasive
Many clients who are sensitive to force or adjustments find Bowen Therapy a comfortable and effective alternative.
Bowen Therapy vs Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy is designed to rehabilitate injuries, improve strength, and restore movement through exercises, hands-on techniques, and education. It plays an important role in recovery and physical conditioning.
Bowen Therapy differs because:
- It requires no exercises during the session
- It focuses on nervous system regulation
- It supports the body’s internal healing processes
- It often helps when progress has plateaued
Bowen Therapy is especially beneficial when pain, tension, or restriction persists despite ongoing rehabilitation

Explaining
Bowen Therapy as a Complementary Therapy
Bowen Therapy works beautifully alongside chiropractic and physiotherapy.
Many clients choose Bowen Therapy to:
- Help the body integrate chiropractic adjustments
- Reduce nervous system overload between physio sessions
- Improve recovery and reduce flare-ups
- Support long-term results rather than temporary relief
By calming the nervous system and releasing fascial tension, Bowen Therapy can enhance the effectiveness of other treatments, not replace them.
